2010 sees Disco Inferno 3 on the Mediterranean regatta circuit. First on list for the summer is the Palma Vela in April, followed by the Rolex Giraglia in June and finishing the season at Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez in Sept/October. All regattas are available to Groups & Individuals.

REGATTA 1

PALMA VELA - Palma de Mallorca
Individual & Group Charter

Thursday 15th to Sunday 18th April - Long Weekend Regatta

Palma Vela, the islands largest regatta after Copa Del Rey started in 2004 as a Maxi Wally regatta. It was an immediate success confirming The Real Club Nautico, Palma´s organisation skills and the Bay of Palma as an ideal sailing area. The big boats were back after almost seven years of absence! The event has grown each year and now includes Maxis, Mini Maxis (our class), Wallys, Maxi Swans, TP52s, Classics plus many more, this is it’s 7th year of running and they expect the fleet to be bigger and more competitive than ever! The format is very much like Cascais meets St Tropez, similar entry line-up and classes to StTrop but with more, shorter, races. Racing starts at 12noon on the 4 race days with no more than 3 races per day. The late start allows the Mediterranean sea breeze to build in the morning giving us a good afternoon on the water.

Our newly revised programme allows you to fit this season opener into your busy holiday schedule as we are now offering it as a long weekend regatta with racing days Thursday thru Sunday. Arrive on the Weds evening or very early Thurs morning so we have time for a short practice before the first race on Thursday afternoon. Depart Sunday after the prize giving in the evening or party with us and fly home Monday morning. Palma has always been a favourite haunt of the mighty Disco meaning we should have a great time off the water as well as on it, Bar A’Baco, Puerto Portals and numerous clubs, pubs and restaurants of the old town mean this event cannot be anything but a hugely successful season opener on Disco Inferno 3. Price is for sailing, crew kit and lunches aboard, all else is extra. We have a hotel list and will try and direct crew to the same place so we have a social base for the week’s proceedings.

REGATTA 2

GIRAGLIA ROLEX CUP- St Tropez, France to Genoa, Italy
Individual & Group Charter

Saturday 12th to Saturday 19th June - 1 week charter

This event is one of the oldest in the Med. Raced every year since 1953 over a variety of similar courses, the ‘Giraglia’ has grown in stature over the years and with Rolex Sponsorship has now evolved into the Giraglia Rolex Cup attended by 250 of the worlds finest yachts, a week long regatta open to all offshore keelboats. It is considered by many to be the ‘Fastnet of the Mediterranean’.

The Giraglia Rolex Cup is one of the most renowned regattas in the Mediterranean, and the race has been a tradition for European sailors for over 50 years. The event runs over a full week in June, with inshore races in the Gulf of St Tropez for the first three days. On the fourth day, the Giraglia distance race starts off the historic port of St. Tropez. The fleet then heads west through the Ile du Levant off Hyeres, Toulon and then downwind in the Mistral Breeze for 150 miles towards the top of Corsica rounding the Giraglia rock to port, the fleet then turns north to race the final 90miles finish off Genoa, Italy. Most boats finish on the Thursday afternoon but the fickle night time breezes off Genoa sometimes see the slower boats arriving on the Friday.

Our week on Disco sees you arrive on the Saturday into St Tropez, inshore racing is Sun thru Tues with the distance race Weds to Thurs, chill out Friday in Genoa (reserve finishing day for a light wind race) and be prepared to party Saturday with the prize giving party Saturday night, its all over by Sunday so time to depart. Price is for sailing, crew shirt and lunches aboard on inshore race days and all food and drink for the offshore, all else is extra. We have a hotel list and will try and direct crew to the same places in St Tropez and Genoa. All boats in the Rolex Giraglia are berthed in the old port of St Tropez during the regatta.

REGATTA 3

LES VOILES DE SAINT-TROPEZ - South of France
Individuals & Group Charter

Saturday 25th September to Sunday 3rd October - 8 day charter

September sees us back in the South of France, join us for Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez for the best way to end the Mediterranean Summer season. And what a way to finish the season it is, we race in a class of about 30boats the smallest being a badly handicapped 35footer and the biggest being 90feet, we are sized around the middle of the fleet and I can't tell you how exciting it is to find yourself on the start line with some of the fastest and most talked about yachts in the World.

This has been voted the best regatta of the season on Disco many, many times with last year StTrop topping the best regatta of all time list! The regatta lasts for 6 days, with a rest day mid week. They set a different coastal course each day, which sees us out on the water all day everyday, although they don't send you out when a mistral is predicted so don't worry about that! Arrive Saturday in time to take in the beauty of the new and improved Disco Villa and enjoy and evening BBQ on the terrace. Sunday is training day, Mon, Tues and Weds race days, Thurs Layday and Fri and Sat final race days, Sunday is time to pack your hangover into the overhead bin and fly home for a rest!

As St Tropez 2009 was so successful we are repeating the VIP package for 2010, we have a new villa, which will be bigger, flashier, and closer to the town than last year. As last year the per person price includes accomm in a double room so you can bring a non sailing or sailing partner for a small increase in price or just luxuriate by yourself. Rooms are allocated on a first to book basis so the sooner you book the better the room. We will also have one or two twin bedrooms so if you are looking for a discount why not share one of these rooms with another Discoer. Amazing villa and fab sailing isn't all, the VIP price includes transfers to and from Nice airport, VIP crew kit package, all food AND WINE this year in the villa (breakfast 8 mornings, dinner 6 evenings) plus lunches aboard while sailing. All you need cash for is the beer tent after racing and the 2 evenings we eat out.

Mediterranean Regattas

Individuals Places - The price for regattas include racing on Disco Inferno 3 for the regatta, regatta entry fees, moorings, drinking water & lunch on board race days and all boat expenses. Please ask about accommodation choices available for the regatta. You must also arrange your own travel insurance for the trip. Full Terms and Conditions of booking will be included in your booking pack.

Crew shirts - For Palma & Giraglia regattas we include ONE Disco Inferno crew shirt. Everyone MUST race in an approved crew shirt on Disco Inferno. We can order extra Henri Lloyd crew kit for racing that can be before the event. Details follow nearer the time. St Tropez includes a VIP crew kit package, details will be forwarded to you nearer the time.

Palma - You must book and pay for your own accommodation for this event, we have compiled a list of hotels that have availability for the week and are close to where the boat will be moored.

Giraglia - You must book and pay for your own accommodation for this event, we have a list of hotels for you to contact. You will need accommodation in Saint-Tropez from Saturday night to Wednesday morning and in Genoa Thursday, Friday & Saturday night.

Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez - VIP Package. You need to arrive on Saturday, please communicate flight times before booking so we can synchronise transfers We will get out on the water on Sunday for a few hours practice, leaving your afternoon free. After the regatta fly back the following Sunday. We rent the villa for the full week so we spend most evenings there with the BBQ fired up. The listed VIP package price is for 1 person in a room with en-suite shower. The extra choices listed above are if you'd like to bring a partner with you. If you'd prefer to share a twin room it will be with another crew member. Let us know when you contact us which option you would prefer and we can break down the price differences. The price also includes breakfast each day, lunches onboard race days and 6 evening dinners with wine at the villa. Transfers from Nice airport are also included, please confirm times with us before booking your flight. The only things NOT included are your beer money when out in town and 2 evening meals that aren't included, on those nights we'll book a table in town for all the crew so we can take in the atmosphere in St Tropez. So that's everything all laid out, all you need to do is book!
