Disco 3, Heineken 2009 Regatta 1

HEINEKEN REGATTA, St Martin
Individuals & Groups or Wholeboat

1 week charter Monday 28th February to Monday 6th March

"Rum, Fun and Sun all in one", that's the catchphrase of the Heineken Regatta and boy does it live up to it's reputation. The Heineken Regatta takes place around the beautiful multi cultural Dutch/French island of St Martin. The regatta is just getting bigger and better every year, the extra day racing created in 2007 is the icing on the cake. The parties are legendary, the 2008 event finished with Mr Lover Lover, yes, Shaggy, performing on the beach on one of the largest sound stages in the Caribbean.

For Heineken 2011 we are going bigger, faster, more luxurious and are offering a VIP regatta experience that you won't find anywhere else. Disco Inferno 3, Bordeaux 60 is the racing weapon, 60ft of Briand designed elegance, speed and style, add our brand new North racing sails of carbon 3DL genoa, still on the furler but with state of the art inflatable battens to make it as fast as possible plus our brand new “big boy” asymmetric spinnaker, 310sqm of North Sails power to blast us round the Caribbean sea.

Going faster on the water isn’t the end, to match the bigger, faster, flashier boat we have upgraded to a bigger, super luxury villa within walking distance of the boat and offering 5 en-suite double rooms plus the usual pool and deck but this year with a heated Jacuzzi to soothe away the aches and pains of a hard day on the water. We are offering rooms in the villa for one or two persons but as they are double beds we will give you the room to keep to yourself or share with a sailing or non sailing partner as you choose, rooms are strictly on a first come first served basis so book early to ensure your room and the best view.

Racing is scheduled for Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun but your Heineken week on Disco 3 starts with your arrival on Monday 28th February, we then practice Tues and Weds with the first day’s racing on Thursday. The Commodores Cup day, for the spinnaker classes only, comprises of 2 - 3 windward leeward races that will be scored independently of the weekend racing so a perfect day to put our practice into a real race, a brilliant warm up for the regatta ahead, we came 3rd in 2009. Fri, Sat & Sun are the Heineken Regatta races, the first race takes the fleet from Simpson Bay anticlockwise around the whole island, it's a 35nm round trip and you get really close in to the land so you have a perfect opportunity to check out the beautiful scenery while racing hard against some of the best boats the Caribbean has to offer. The finish and the party are back in Simpson Bay, usually a huge Reggae affair on the beach, what a way to round off a perfect day on the water, a rum in your hand and sand between your toes!

The next day sees the fleet doing two to three races round the cans, again in the beautiful warm and crystal clear waters off St Martin's South West coast. The finish and the party are in Marigot on the French side, this night is proving to be the best night of all, seafood like you have never tasted and dancing in the streets or Marigot with thousands of other racers until the early hours. Hangovers are taken into account on the last day and the race is "short and sweet", starting off Marigot Bay we race back round to the capital Philipsburg before returning to Simpson Bay for a few early evening cold ones. That evening is the final party and prize giving on the beach followed by the big concert with headline band. What a week, it's fun, fun, fun from the moment your plane touches down. It really is a regatta with something for everyone.

ANTIGUA SAILING WEEK
Individuals & Groups or Whole Boat Charter

1 week charter Saturday 23rd to Saturday 30th April

The most AWESOME regatta in the WORLD!!! This is the Caribbean's BIG ONE! Everyone has heard of ASW, and everyone wants to be there and in recent years EVERYONE wants to be a part of TEAM DISCO INFERNO. It is 10 days of pure unadulterated racing and partying pleasure. ASW2007 delivered an excellent regatta and we were surprised that in our 6 years of racing in Antigua it's still getting better. There have been a variety of changes made over the last 3 years and 2011 looks like the regatta is back on track. Its RACING RACING AND MORE RACING with a healthy splattering of parties to ensure sleep deprivation, aching muscles, sunburn and hangovers. The schedule below is for Division A, Division B, has only one race a day and they are shorter than that of Division A.

£POA

Saturday 23rd April - We'll get out on the water for a couple of hours practice but not too long or you'll be frazzled before we've begun!

Tuesday 26th April - Race 4 off of Willoughby Bay. English Habour Street Party. Or we prefer the party in the Mongoose and on to Abras to keep the party going into the early hours as no racing tomorrow!
Wednesday 27th April - LAYDAY, time to rest those aching muscles having a relaxed lunch or take part in games at Antigua Yacht Club.
Thursday 28th April - Races 5 & 6 two windward leeward courses off the south coast, then the best party on the Island at the awesome Shirley Heights to watch the sunset.
Friday 29th April - Race 7, One last windward/leeward race off the south coast. Then it's the end of regatta party on the Disco, what an amazing atmosphere and lots to chat and laugh about over the last Espresso Martinis of the week followed by the 1930 Prize Giving in the Dockyard and then an evening of dining and partying in Abras.
Saturday 30th April - Its all over, chill and swim on Galleon Beach before taking your taxi back to the airport.
