Disco Inferno is participating
in the ARC2010 and will be back in the Caribbean from
mid December 2010. We'll be back in St Maarten for the
Heineken Regatta and Antigua for Sailing Week. New on
the calendar this year is the Voiles de Saint Barth,
this will be the 2nd year of this new regatta to the
Caribbean Circuit and we believe it will be a great
addition. We are also offering the BVI Spring Regatta

HEINEKEN
REGATTA, St Martin
Individuals & Groups
1 week charter Monday 28th February to Monday 7th March
"Rum,
Fun and Sun all in one", that's the catchphrase
of the Heineken Regatta and it certainly lives up to
it's reputation. The Heineken Regatta takes place around
the beautiful multi cultural Dutch/French island of
St Martin. The regatta is just getting bigger and better
every year, the extra day racing created in 2007 is
the icing on the cake. The parties are legendary, the
2008 event finished with Mr Lover Lover, yes, Shaggy,
performing on the beach on one of the largest sound
stages in the Caribbean.
For
Heineken 2011 we are going bigger, faster, more luxurious
and are offering a VIP regatta experience that you won't
find anywhere else. Disco Inferno 3, Bordeaux 60 is
the racing weapon, 60ft of Briand designed elegance,
speed and style, add our brand new North racing sails
of carbon 3DL genoa, still on the furler but with state
of the art inflatable battens to make it as fast as
possible plus our brand new “big boy” asymmetric spinnaker,
320sqm of North Sails power to blast us round the Caribbean
sea.
Going
faster on the water isn’t the end, to match the
bigger, faster, flashier boat we have upgraded the luxury
villa to a position on the lagoon so we can do rib pick
ups directly to and from the villa, offering 4 en-suite
rooms (3 double & 1 triple) plus the usual pool
and deck to relax and soothe away the aches and pains
of a hard day on the water. We are offering rooms in
the villa for one or two persons but with the double
beds we will give you the room to keep to yourself or
share with a sailing or non sailing partner as you choose,
rooms are strictly on a first come first served basis
so book early to ensure your room.
Racing
is scheduled for Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun but your
Heineken week on Disco 3 starts with your arrival on
Monday 28th February, we then practice Tues and Weds
with the first day’s racing on Thursday. The Commodores
Cup day, for the spinnaker classes only, comprises of
2 - 3 windward leeward races that will be scored independently
of the weekend racing so a perfect day to put our practice
into a real race, a brilliant warm up for the regatta
ahead, we came 3rd in 2009. Fri, Sat & Sun are the
Heineken Regatta races, the first race takes the fleet
from Simpson Bay anticlockwise around the whole island,
it's a 35nm round trip and you get really close in to
the land so you have a perfect opportunity to check
out the beautiful scenery while racing hard against
some of the best boats the Caribbean has to offer. The
finish and the party are back in Simpson Bay, usually
a huge Reggae affair on the beach, what a way to round
off a perfect day on the water, a rum in your hand and
sand between your toes!
The
next day sees the fleet doing two to three races round
the cans, again in the beautiful warm and crystal clear
waters off St Martin's South West coast. The finish
and the party are in Marigot on the French side, this
night is proving to be the best night of all, seafood
like you have never tasted and dancing in the streets
or Marigot with thousands of other racers until the
early hours. The last race starts off Marigot Bay and
we race back round to the capital Philipsburg before
returning to Simpson Bay. That evening is the final
party and prize giving on the beach followed by the
big concert with headline band. What a week, it's fun,
fun, fun from the moment your plane touches down. It
really is a regatta with something for everyone.

Thursday 3rd March - The Commodores
Cup, an 8.30am start gets us out the bridge in time
for 2 - 3 Windward Leeward races, a great warm up
for the Heineken Regatta, time to get the team work
ultra slick, and work out those aches, pains and sunburn
before the weekend. Evening BBQ at the villa before
we head off to the welcome party at the Princess Casino.
Friday 4th March - 8am Rib out to
Disco at anchor, just enough time to warm up before
the Round the Island Race starts at 9am. After a full
day of racing its back to Simpson Bay. Early evening
BBQ at villa and then over to the beach for the official
Heineken party.
Saturday 5th March - After a nice
lie in, rib out to Disco at 9.15am. Today is two or
three shorter distance races finishing the day on
the French side in Marigot. Tonight you are treated
to the Best Party of the event in the Streets of Marigot
and some great French cuisine.
Sunday 6th March - Short & Sweet
is the name of race 4, Marigot round to Simpson Bay.
We should be back on anchor by 3pm so you can either
hang out on the boat or rib back to the shore. Back
on the beach late afternoon for the prize giving,
a final Disco BBQ at the villa and back to beach for
the concert.

BVI
Spring Regatta & Sailing Festival, Tortola
Whole Boat Charter
1 week charter Monday 28th March to Monday 4th April
The
BVI Spring Regatta is 3 days of racing in the Sir Francis
Drake, windward/leeward courses if you pick the racing
division or racing around the islands if you pick the
cruising division. To kick start the regatta there is
the Sailing Festival that starts on Tuesday with a race
to the Bitter End, a layday there on the Wednesday and
a race back to Nanny Cay on the Thursday. It's all about
having fun and getting to go racing at the same time.
The regatta attracts around 100 boats so it has a very
friendly feel to it but out on the water it's a real
fight to be at the top of your class and stay there
with up to 4 races a day.
With
the choice of the racing or cruising division you choose
how you wish to race, with two separate race areas,
there are two very different style days available in
the regatta. Let us know what you fancy, be it a serious
race hard regatta or a group of friends looking for
a competitive day out.

1 week charter Sunday 3rd to Sunday 10th April
New to the Caribbean
Circuit in 2010, we unfortunately missed the 1st edition
but are very excited about the opportunity to be there
for the 2nd. St Barths is the island you read about
and the celebs like to holiday here; Beyonce, Snoop
Dogg, Andre Agassi are our favourite spots, it is one
of our favourite islands, beautiful water, beaches &
restaurants. The French Island also holds the New Years
Eve Round the Island Race and the St Barths Bucket so
it certainly knows how to host a regatta.
The praise that was
heaped on the new event by sailors, skippers and owners
at the end of the first edition boosted the confidence
of the organisers in their format. The invitation has
been issued for all those, who enjoy fine yacht races.
With 4 days racing it fits perfectly into a week charter,
flying in and out of St Maarten and sailing 12 miles
over to St Barths and back, or you can a small island
hopper plane from there and meet us in St Barts.

Everyone
has heard of ASW, and everyone wants to be there and

regatta and we were surprised that in our 6 years of
racing in Antigua it's still getting better. There have
been a variety of changes made over the last 3 years
and 2011 looks like the regatta is back on track. Its
RACING RACING AND MORE RACING with a healthy splattering
of parties to ensure sleep deprivation, aching muscles,
sunburn and hangovers. The schedule below is for Division
A, Division B, has only one race a day and they are
shorter than that of Division A.
