Passage
1
PALMA,
MALLORCA to GIBRALTAR
Sunday
19th to Saturday 25th October 2008
£1000 per person
It's
the end of the Mediterranean season so its time to move on out and head to warmer
climes. October time in Palma is quiet compared to the summer months, if we're
lucky it may still be hot but the weather has normally started to cool down
by the end of September. Depending on the weather there is a variety of ways
down to Gibraltar, if the weather forecast is good for the week we'll probably
stop 1 or 2 nights in different ports along the Spanish coast. Although land
is not always in sight, there is always a port just over the horizon.
We
would plan to leave on the Monday, weather permitting and start the 500mile
passage. Then we will settle into a watch system to see us through the next
few days. We may spend a maximum of four nights at sea, so plenty of miles and
night hours to get signed off in your logbook.

Passage
2
GIBRALTAR
to LANZAROTE
Sunday
26th to Friday 31st October 2008
£1000 per person
Your
trip starts in Gibraltar, the weather is often uncooperative but that's just
the Gibraltar Straits. With all the ships coming in and out and the coast of
Africa in sight, it's an experience in itself. By the time we're 12 hours into
the trip its sea and only sea on the horizon, well there is normally the odd
dolphin or yacht, as it's a popular time to head south ready to head across
the Atlantic.
We'll
settle quickly into a watch system and the hours will fly by even if the scenery
doesn't change
It's
a real ocean passage with a only a start and finish, finishing in Marina Rubicon,
Playa Blanca is definitely a treat. It's a great start for those people thinking
about doing the ARC but aren't sure about spending so much time at sea and out
of the sight of land.

Passage

ARC
Transatlantic
Sunday
23rd November 2008
£3250 per person
2008
will be our first ARC Crossing on Disco Inferno 3. Having sailed across the
Atlantic 9 times, its a routine that we now easily slip into. If this is something
on your “must do” list then we are the guys to give you the transatlantic
experience you are waiting for. Disco is fast, comfortable and loves surfing
down the ocean rollers. What better way to use up 3 weeks holiday and completely
forget about the stresses of the office. Our price is all in apart from flights
& onshore expenses.
The ARC, the Atlantic Rally for Cruisers, is the friendliest way to do the Atlantic.
It runs from Gran Canaria to St Lucia, it's proving to be a favourite amongst
ocean crossers and the entry list is growing by the year. The ARC covers a 2800
mile classic transatlantic course. You can join Disco from the Wednesday before
the start for the farewell parties and informative seminars. It's then off on
the transatlantic adventure of a lifetime. As soon as the start gun has fired
we settle in to 2-3 weeks of downwind sailing in 15 to 25 knots of wind, averaging
boat speeds of 9 knots plus all the way! It really is some of the most amazing
sailing you will ever do, the colour of the water, the emptiness of the ocean,
the stunning phosphorescence at night and occasional, yet always spectacular,
visits from dolphins and whales.
Arriving
in Rodney Bay, St Lucia is a special moment after so long at sea, the colours
in the water become more and more inviting as we close on land, you really feel
you have achieved something huge and you have, you have joined the elite sailing
club of people who have "sailed across the Atlantic" its the type
of life altering experience that will remain close to your heart forever.
This
year the ARC price includes all your food for the crossing plus breakfasts at
either end and accommodation on board from the Wednesday before the start to
24hours after arrival in St Lucia in December, most people move straight into
a hotel on arrival in St Lucia for their own bed, shower, space and large air-conditioning
unit. All moorings fees are included for the period of the ARC, all you need
to do is bring beer and food money for the on land bit at either end.
This
really is a trip of a lifetime and doing it on a 60footer with fridge, freezer,
chef you'll be the envy of the fleet.

work hard to make your time on board a success, from the moment you arrive,
your time at sea and your final destination. The skipper is constantly on alert
day and night to ensure the safety of the yacht and the crew aboard and the
hostess ensures that the boat is always in top condition inside, serving endless
thirst quenchers in the sun or tea and coffee on that cold night watch plus
some delicious meals to keep your energy levels up. As you will see from our
programme your holiday includes some time ashore to sample local restaurants
and bars, of course, you may be looking for a quiet night away from the rest
of the group which is perfectly acceptable, however if you do decide to venture
out as a group and would like your skipper and hostess to join you please remember
that what is your holiday is their job, they aren't on holiday and can't afford
to buy meals ashore week in, week out. If you would like to show your appreciation
for all their hard work in making your holiday a success by asking them to join
you for a night out then please be kind enough to pay for their food and drinks,
